Lickity Fingers Catering Rockhampton
Lickity Fingers Catering began as a “one man” operation, at the end of 2011, by me, Chef and Owner Joseph Prout (or Chef Joe). I was sick of attending functions and being served enormous platters of fried spring rolls, samosa and party pies (obviously straight out of a box). My concept was to start small, serving fancy handmade finger food and sweets, designed to have the guests “licking their fingers”, hence the playful name Lickity Fingers.
With the help of some clever branding and marketing, and a lot of hard work, the orders trickled in. Cooking for celebrities and Royalty across the globe boosted the clients’ confidence. Queen Elizabeth was one of the biggest feathers in my cap. Clients were so chuffed to be able to tell their guests that their chef had cooked for The Queen, even leading to the filming of a news story on ABC Breakfast (screened nationally) “Rocky boy cooks for the Queen”.
Lickity Fingers Catering has grown into the premier catering business in Rockhampton. We now have 4 full time employees and up to 40 casual staff working on bigger events at any one time.
Catering 3-course plated gala events for over 400+ guests, cocktail parties for 500, wedding catering for over 200, private catering for intimate degustation dinner parties, long lunches amongst rows of mandarin trees, corporate catering with endless combinations for corporate meetings and/or functions.
Lickity Fingers Catering not only specialize in event catering to Rockhampton and Yeppoon, we also have travelled to Wilpeena, Baralaba, Springsure, Gladstone and St Lawrence.
Now based in a new, modern kitchen in Berserker St, North Rockhampton, it will be exciting times ahead, as we aim to keep up with the latest trends in catering and food service.
Just want to say another HUGE thank you to you and your team! What a wonderful and talented bunch of people!

Head chef, Joseph Prout speaks about how he founded the most successful catering company
Hello, my name is Joseph Prout, Head Chef and Owner of Lickity Fingers Catering Rockhampton.
I am a Rocky Boy thru and thru, calling Rocky home for most of my life.
I trained to be a chef in Rockhampton, then took the advice of my Tafe teacher Tim “If you want to get anywhere as a chef you have to get out of Rocky”. With that advice I headed to the other side of Australia, The Wild West Kimberly Region of Western Australia, to work at El Questro Wilderness Park.
